Our ART WALK OPENING GALA (music provided by DJ GINNIE) happens on June 6th, from 10am-noon outside the El Quijote Lounge (W 23rd St). Come as you wish, casual or formal (the joy of bohemia). Many of the over 25 artists will be present, so come meet the artists behind the art!
We continue in our El Quijote Lounge at 3pm Friday, June 12th with live music from MAX KLEENE, 4pm LEIF ERIKSSON and 5pm KAKLICK MARTIN. This is all live.
Saturday, June 13 at 1:30pm we rev up with three great, long-time Second Life POETS: PERSEPHONE PHOENIX, GRAIL ARNICA and ROSEDROP RUST, followed by LIVE MUSIC starting at 2:30pm with ROSEDROP RUST, 3pm ZACHARIAH LOON, 4pm ROSEMARY TEAL and at 6pm GYPSY DHRUA. We’ll be partying on the roof.
While you’re at the party, be sure to go upstairs and check out Circle Mental Health Artist Circle’s Show: ‘OUTSIDE THE INSIDE BOX’. Over 20 artists are on display, some for the first time ever!
Want more? Take a zip line to WILD RABBIT’S HOMAGE TO A POWERHOUSE: THE INCREDIBLE LIFE OF PATTY DOWDELL. It’s a special show which tells the story of Volleyball Olympian Patty Dowdell.
Another Zip line down you’ll be down the street from Gallery 23 where we have a wonderful BASQUIAT ‘BOOM FOR REAL’ show, curated by Chelsea’s own Crystalina Halostar. Come take a peak at one of the amazing artists from the physical world Hotel Chelsea!
Also in Gallery 23 you will find our CURTAL POETRY CONTEST submissions waiting for your vote.
Are you a poet, or want to try your hand at poetry? Write a Curtal poem, which is simply any shortened version of a classical poetic form. Think ‘limeri’ or ‘sonne’ – just clip a few lines from any poetic form. Send your submission(s), with your poem’s title and avatar name, to Klannex Northmead secondlife:///app/agent/12a5034c-abe4-4316-8b2c-7e7efd633fec/about and get posted just inside the door (on the left) of Gallery 23.
Voting runs through June 27th, submissions accepted through June.

We’re not done! Sunday, June 14th we have more poetry. In the El Quijote Lounge at noon we have SUNDAY SPOKEN WORD and at 4pm, just outside the El Quijote Lounge on W 23rd St, the BLUE ANGEL POET DIVE’S CHALLENGE: ‘THEM’S ART WORDS’ will decide the winning poem, written about one of the art works on display at Chelsea’s 5th Annual Art Walk. Submit it at the event (4pm, Sunday, June 14th) for a chance to win. Must be present to win.
