The party for Rosedrop’s 20th Rez Day jumped off with work by creatives from a wide sampling of the Virtual Hotel Chelsea’s arts community in letters, music, and graphic arts.
Letters included both poetry and prose, including readings by the excellent poet and novelist, Huckleberry Hax; the heartfelt and lucid poems of Shyla the Super Gecko; and some unabashedly admiring poems from Grail Arnica, regarding the guest of honor. Rosedrop gave us a chronological reading of his poetry and prose to round up the first hour of the party.
We were then treated to a few of the most entertaining live musicians playing anywhere in Second Life. From 2PM SLT we began with Spence Wilder, who gave us a rich set of excellent covers of current folk and protest songs, as well as a rich set of originals. Gypsy Dhrua started at 3PM SLT, in her gorgeous Contralto voice, with many favorite original pieces. At 4PM SLT, Kaklick Martin rounded out the fabulous live music with his exceptional originals speaking through the 20 years of his experience in Second Life.

Rosedrop requested that any gift donations be in the name of the FSSW, Friends of Seasonal and Service Workers. based in Portland, Oregon. $L3,000 was donated to this cause by Roasedrop’s many friends and admirers. More information about the FSSW is available at https://fsswpdx.org/ . RoseDrop adds, “They have done work with opposing converting farm land to server space. They also provide direct picket line help for striking workers.
